I big time failed with seasonal successions this year. As in, I really only planned for summer blooms in the potted patio garden. Next year I’m thinking early spring bulbs into late spring annuals from the garden center to summer bloomers from seed. Gardening is a constant learning experience. Meanwhile, these future summer bloomers are makin’ their way in.

y’all, we’re getting sunflowers! and I’m 97% sure the rabbits can’t reach these. (famous last words). I planted these in situ this year, I keep hearing they prefer this to the root disturbance that comes with starting them in cells or pots. Results to follow.

Ada ‘helped’ plant these cilantro babes with me today. While ‘help’ is a relative term, her enthusiasm was undeniable. Happy Mother’s Day to me!

Such happy dudes! I’ve been showing the kiddo around the garden and handing her things to eat. Without a second’s thought, she stuffed one of these flower heads in her mouth and smiled the whole time, like she was eating sunshine.
