This plant brought me absolute and pure joy today. It’s a trillium. It can take 7 years to flower. That’s the reason I’ve never brought one home from a plant store. But it was almost exactly 7 years ago that I dipped my toe in the gardening space. My toe must has slipped because my entire self went with it….

This plant was brought to my from the north woods of Wisconsin by my best friend’s mom. I was told she was bringing me Solomon’s Seal and ferns from her garden. When she opened her trunk and revaled this treasure among many, I about lost it with squeals. I finally have my trillium and if I had bought it 7 years ago, it would have been for someone else to enjoy, where I left my old garden. This full circle moment has felt like magic. I wonder what 7 years from now will bring. I hope my eyes and heart are open enough to see it.
